BLOGGING TOWARD SUNDAY…

I want to do a little bragging today…not on myself, but on a husband and wife who are part of my Disciple Bible Study class.  Ben and Amanda are newlyweds, married for only a couple of years now.  Last September, they made a commitment to doing Disciple together — 34 weeks of intensive Bible study…every Tuesday night for about 2 hours, with about 2 hours of outside reading required each week.

Last night we finished our 30th week together, and Ben and Amanda have never missed a session.  They were supposed to be on vacation with Ben’s family this week at Hilton Head, but rather than miss Disciple, they decided to wait until after class last night to join them.  That meant leaving Union Grove around 9, and arriving at Hilton Head between 2 and 3 a.m.

I rarely see that kind of commitment and dedication, and when I do, I like to point it out.  In a culture that takes most church commitments as lightly as teenagers take parental advice, Ben and Amanda are exceptions, and I want you and them to know that not only am I honored by their presence in the class, so is God.  We’re both proud.
