BLOGGING TOWARD SUNDAY…

Just wanted you all to know that UGUMC met its goal of raising $129,000 by January 15.  At the close of yesterday’s worship service, treasurer Rose Speece and finance chairman Bill Wooten announced that by 9 a.m. on Monday morning, the church’s $229,000 debt would be history.  And so it is.

I would place our reaching this goal in the “miracle” category!  Given the current state of the economy and widespread worries about the future, this seemed a daunting task from the moment the challenge was offered.  Several people said it couldn’t be done, but the pessimism of a few did not stop the generosity of the many. 

In accomplishing this amazing feat, once again you have proved your love for God, for Union Grove UMC, and for all the many good things we do in this community.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart!  We serve a great God, with whom and through whom all things are indeed possible.  Blessings…sk
