MORE BRILLIANCE FROM KILLINGER! 9.14.10

by Steve

My SS class has been discussing “salvation” for the past six weeks. Today in my devotional reading I discovered an amazing statement which sums up our conclusions:

Salvation is not a distant and shining phenomenon but a living and daily reality…. It can come from something so small, tender, unexpected, and vulnerable that it is hardly noticeable. God is the Creator of all things, yet he comes to us in smallness, weakness, hiddenness. He comes to hear and respond to our cries for mercy, and he saves us. Yet we are still in the process of being saved, and the process depends on our response at every point along the way. In the end, it is what determines if we have lived and then died without having ever been affected by the beauty of wonder and the wonder of beauty. (from Salvation In Our Time, by John Killinger. Crossroad Press, page 120.)

For the life of me, I can think of nothing to add.
